For LDE UTC's Class of 2026, this week marked the end of an important chapter.
Year 11 and Year 13 learners gathered for their leavers' assembly, taking time to celebrate friendships, achievements and the experiences that have shaped their time at the college before moving on to the next stage of their journeys.
As always, one of the highlights of the day was the tradition of signing shirts. What begins as a blank white shirt quickly becomes a collection of memories, messages and signatures from friends, teachers and classmates. From words of encouragement and inside jokes to heartfelt farewells, each shirt tells the story of an individual's time at LDE UTC.
The assembly itself provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the year group and celebrate the contribution learners have made to life at the college over the past two years.
The occasion also included a memorable performance from one of our Year 11 learners, who took to the stage to perform Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.
The song's themes of reflection, change and looking ahead resonated with many in the room, providing a fitting soundtrack to a day marked by both celebration and farewell. It was a moment that captured the significance of the occasion and the journey the Class of 2026 has shared together.

For many learners, it was an opportunity to reflect on how far they have come. Whether through academic success, employer engagement, enrichment activities, personal growth or new friendships, every learner leaves with experiences that will stay with them long after the school day ends.
While some of our Year 11 learners will continue their studies with us in sixth form, others will begin new adventures at colleges, apprenticeships and training providers across London and beyond. Our Year 13 learners now look ahead to university, degree apprenticeships, employment and exciting new opportunities in industries ranging from engineering and construction to digital, design and the creative sectors.
The Class of 2026 has contributed enormously to life at LDE UTC. They have embraced challenges, represented the college with pride and helped shape the community around them.
As they leave for a well-earned summer break, we would like to thank them for the energy, commitment and character they have brought to the college.
We wish all of our Year 11 and Year 13 learners a safe, enjoyable and memorable summer.
We look forward to welcoming you back on results day and celebrating your achievements together.
Good luck, Class of 2026.
