At London Design & Engineering UTC (LDE), our core purpose is to prepare young people for life, work and the future. We believe this responsibility extends beyond our own school community.
Our approach has been recognised through our recent Ofsted inspection, where practice was judged Exceptional under the revised framework. Ofsted defines Exceptional practice as work that is of the highest standard and from which others can learn. Where practice is recognised in this way, we believe it should be open, shared and discussed.
We therefore welcome others to visit us, to see our practice in action and to engage in professional dialogue with our governors, directors, staff and learners. As part of that commitment, we also share our learning and experience through collaboration and structured development opportunities.
Professional Development and CPD for Education Leaders
Alongside our work with learners, we offer a growing programme of professional development and CPD for schools, colleges and education providers. Our sessions are grounded in real-world practice and lived experience, including recent inspection under the revised Ofsted framework, and are designed to support leadership teams with clarity, confidence and practical insight.
Our CPD offer is not consultancy-led. It is shaped by day-to-day leadership practice and focused on professional dialogue, organisational culture and sustainable improvement.

Summary
A practical course for senior leadership teams, informed by LDE’s experience as part of the first wave of inspections under the revised Ofsted framework. This session supports leaders to understand what to expect from inspection, how to prepare thoughtfully, and how to engage confidently in professional dialogue with inspectors.
