We were delighted to welcome Paula Arkell-Waller, Deputy Social Value Manager at Bouygues UK, to LDE UTC to meet our T Level Design, Surveying and Planning learners.
Paula introduced the exciting industry placement opportunities available with Bouygues UK as part of the company’s commitment to developing local talent and supporting the next generation of construction professionals.
Learners learned more about Bouygues’ projects across the UK, explored potential placement locations, and asked thoughtful questions about how recruitment, teamwork, and innovation come together in large-scale construction. The session generated lively discussion and a real sense of enthusiasm about the future.
“Bouygues UK has been an incredible partner over the years,” said Janice Tricks, Careers and Employer Engagement Lead at LDE UTC. “They’ve supported us through employer-led projects, masterclasses, and now T Level placements - giving our learners a chance to apply their skills with one of the industry’s leading construction companies. Securing placements with a partner of this calibre is the icing on the cake, and the next step for our learners will be preparing for interviews for these exciting opportunities. It’s a brilliant way to make the world of work feel real.”
This ongoing partnership with Bouygues UK continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration between education and industry. By opening up authentic work experiences and professional pathways, learners are gaining a true understanding of how their studies connect to real careers.

Stay Tuned
Next, our learners will have the chance to interview for one of these highly sought-after placements - giving them a real taste of what it’s like to apply and prepare for a professional role.
Stay tuned to find out who’s selected and to follow their journey as they embark on their placements with Bouygues UK.
