Our latest staff wellbeing initiative in partnership with the University of East London (UEL), reinforces the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting staff health, wellbeing and long-term sustainability.
The Move & Thrive programme will run across the academic year and is designed to provide practical, accessible support through a blend of health checks, workshops and physical activity sessions, all delivered as part of everyday school life at LDE UTC.
As part of the programme, staff will have access to a series of free health checks across the year. These are designed to offer a snapshot of overall health and help staff better understand key wellbeing indicators. Health checks will include measures such as blood pressure, height and weight, grip strength and lung function, with clear explanations and guidance provided.
The University of East London Move & Thrive team will support staff by explaining what results mean in relation to general healthy ranges and offering personalised advice where appropriate. Where further support may be beneficial, staff will be signposted to relevant guidance or interventions to help enhance their wellbeing.
The Move & Thrive programme reflects LDE UTC’s belief that staff wellbeing is fundamental to an effective, positive and sustainable school culture. By working in partnership with external organisations and embedding wellbeing into school practice, the school continues to invest in an environment where staff are supported to remain healthy, motivated and able to perform at their best.
Initiatives such as this demonstrate LDE UTC’s commitment to creating a workplace where people wellbeing is valued alongside professional excellence, ensuring staff are well supported in preparing young people for the future.
Those interested in working in a school that takes staff wellbeing seriously are encouraged to connect with our HR team to explore opportunities at LDE UTC, where long-term support, professional sustainability and a positive working culture are actively prioritised.
