Our year 11 English learners were virtually visited by author Luke Tredget for a Q&A masterclass to help with Paper 1 question 5 of the English Language paper. This question requires learners to' write creatively to a brief. Luke’s masterclass also provided insight into what it takes to become a published author.  

Luke has published the book Kismet:  
Anna is in love.  
Or maybe not. 
She's a free spirit: definitely happy. 
Or is it more panicked? 
In any case, she is living life to the full. Or maybe to the edge. 

Our learners prepared a range of questions about his career pathway, his writing practice and habits and how he balances his career and passion for writing. Through these prepared questions, the class plunged into an amazing discussion about a range of topics related to literary practices.  

Thanks to this masterclass, learners not only gained insight in preparation for their exam but also discovered what it takes to have a career as an author.
